Infrared Sauna Disclaimer
Important: Individuals with severe or complex medical conditions must provide written clearance from a medical professional before using the Infrared Sauna.
The following conditions are considered contraindications or require caution:
Medications – Certain medications, including diuretics, barbiturates, blood thinners, and beta-blockers, may impair your body’s ability to regulate heat. Anticholinergic drugs like amitriptyline may reduce sweating, increasing the risk of overheating. Common over-the-counter drugs such as antihistamines may also raise your susceptibility to heat stress. Prescription medications that cause drowsiness or loss of consciousness should not be combined with sauna use.
Pregnancy – Sauna use is not permitted during the first trimester of pregnancy. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant and considering infrared therapy.
Cardiovascular Conditions – Individuals with high or low blood pressure, congestive heart failure, impaired coronary circulation, or those on medications that affect blood pressure should exercise caution. Exposure to high heat can increase heart rate significantly and may place additional stress on the cardiovascular system.
Alcohol Use – Using the sauna under the influence of alcohol is unsafe. Alcohol impairs judgment and increases heart rate, which may heighten the risk of adverse reactions to heat. Appointments will be forfeited without refund if alcohol use is disclosed or suspected.
Chronic Conditions Affecting Sweating – Conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, central nervous system tumors, and diabetic neuropathy may reduce your ability to sweat and regulate body temperature, increasing risk during sauna sessions.
Bleeding Disorders (e.g., Hemophilia) – Heat exposure may increase the risk of bleeding in individuals with clotting disorders. Please seek medical clearance.
Fever or Acute Illness – Do not use the sauna while experiencing a fever or flu-like symptoms.
Recent Joint Injuries – Avoid heating joints within the first 48 hours of injury, or if they remain swollen or inflamed.
Surgical Implants – Metal rods, pins, or artificial joints are generally unaffected by infrared heat but may cause discomfort. Please consult your physician if you have implants.
Pacemakers/Defibrillators – Infrared sauna assembly magnets may interfere with pacemaker function. Always discuss risks with your cardiologist or specialist.
Ice Bath Disclaimer
Important: Individuals with severe or complex medical conditions must provide written clearance from a medical professional before using the Ice Bath.
Please exercise caution or avoid use if you have any of the following:
Cardiac History (e.g., Heart Attack, Arrhythmia) – The sudden cold shock can place strain on the cardiovascular system and is not recommended for those with recent cardiac events or abnormalities.
Post-Surgical Recovery – Cold exposure can slow wound healing and may interfere with recovery. Avoid use until cleared by your doctor.
Migraines or Chronic Headaches – Cold therapy may help some individuals but can also trigger or worsen symptoms in others.
Blood Pressure Disorders – Cold immersion may cause rapid shifts in blood pressure. Consult your doctor if you have hypertension or hypotension.
Neurological Disorders – Conditions such as epilepsy, seizures, panic disorders, or a history of fainting may be aggravated by cold exposure.
Lung Conditions – Ice baths may restrict breathing, making them unsuitable for individuals with lung disease or history of collapsed lung.
Motion Sickness – Sudden exposure to cold may increase symptoms of nausea or dizziness in those sensitive to motion.
Pregnancy – Cold immersion can lead to excessive vasoconstriction, which may impact circulation and fetal health.
Diabetes – Individuals with diabetes (especially with poor circulation or neuropathy) should proceed with medical guidance due to potential effects on blood sugar and extremity sensitivity.
